Meet Alexandra.

Alexandra Scoggin is the Senior Executive Vice President at nFusion Capital, where she oversees a broad portfolio across the entire U.S. With deep expertise in Apparel, Food and Beverage, Staffing, and numerous other industries, she specializes in helping businesses of all sizes, from small entrepreneurs to large publicly traded companies, achieve growth and success. In addition to her professional endeavors, she serves on the board of esteemed organizations such as National Jewish Respiratory Health, City of Hope, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Her leadership and dedication to both business and community are hallmarks of her career, positioning her as a key figure in driving forward-thinking strategies and impactful initiatives.

Can you share a significant challenge or obstacle you've faced in the industry and how you overcame it?

Throughout my career, I’ve faced numerous challenges, but COVID brought a unique set of obstacles that businesses are still navigating. The shift to direct-to-consumer models has been pivotal, with managing returns and addressing business dilution becoming crucial for companies to sustain growth and thrive in the current landscape.

Who are your role models or mentors in the industry? How have they influenced your career?

My mentors in this industry were influential women who thrived in a predominately male dominated space. One, in particular Debbie Steinberg has been instrumental in m growth always have been invaluable and I never take on a new role without seeking her advice.

What advice would you give to your younger self or to our younger generations who are looking to break into the industry?

Never stop. Keep your head up and grind!

How has your experience been as a woman in a leadership position, and what changes would you like to see?

I have made my space in the financing industry. I have earned the respect from the men that I work with. I love seeing more and more women enter the financing space.

Many women in business face the challenge of balancing personal and professional life. How have you managed to navigate this balance as a female entrepreneur?

I have worked since I was 11 years old. I also do not have children. I have always been able to balance my work and personal life. it just comes naturally for me.

Have you experienced any biases or stereotypes as a woman in your industry, and how have those experiences shaped the way you lead and run your business?

I’ve faced my share of biases and stereotypes, which, while difficult, have also fueled my determination to keep pushing forward. Rather than letting these challenges hold me back, I use them as motivation to excel. I refuse to let negativity define my path and remain focused on my goals, leaving behind those who underestimate me.”

What’s a misconception people have about being a female founder that you’d like to address?

Some may perceive women as fragile or incapable of running a business, but they vastly underestimate the strength and resilience women posses. They have no idea just how power and capable we truly are.

What strategies do you use to maintain your personal identity outside of your role as a business leader?

I prioritize balance by making time for activities that ground me outside of work, like spending time with family and engaging in personal hobbies or interests. Maintaining strong connections with my mentors and friends also helps me stay true to myself. I find it important to set boundaries, which allows me to recharge and bring my best self to both my personal and professional life. Ultimately, my personal identity is shaped by my values and passions, which guide me in all areas, not just in my role as a business leader.”

What’s an unconventional or unexpected resource that has been pivotal in your entrepreneurial journey?

My family and husband have been the unwavering backbone of my career journey. Their constant support and encouragement have been essential in helping me navigate challenges and reach new heights

How do you measure success for yourself outside of traditional metrics like revenue or growth?

I measure my success on my happiness.
